The developing second book in Jonathan's story, exploring the work of rebuilding, recognizing old patterns, integrating experience, and becoming someone no longer governed by the conditions that created the first book.

How I Ungot Here is the second book, and it takes on the part the first one deliberately left alone: what happens after.

Leaving is not the ending. The patterns that made the situation survivable do not switch off when the situation does — the vigilance, the negotiating with yourself, the reflex to manage other people's moods. This book is about recognizing those patterns as they resurface, understanding where they came from, and doing the unglamorous work of no longer being governed by them.

Where the first book documents a set of conditions, this one is about integration: making the experience part of a life rather than the whole of it, and becoming someone who can be trusted with his own judgment again.

The book is in development. It is a personal account rather than clinical or therapeutic guidance, and nothing here should be read as a description of anyone's recovery but the author's own.
